BERNIE -- Odist W. Low, 89, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
He was born July 14, 1910, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of John William Low and Minnie Marrie Marchbanks Low. He and Irene Lawless were married Oct. 5, 1929, at Senath. She died Nov. 8, 1984. He then married Diana Hartline Davis Aug. 15, 1987, at Bernie. She died March 12, 1999.
A longtime resident of Stoddard County, he was a member of Bernie General Baptist Church and served as a deacon many years.
Survivors include three sons, Otis Low Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Melvin Low of Dexter, Clyde Low of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Wilma Mills of Poplar Bluff, Earlene Sharp of Cypress, Texas; two brothers, Hershel Low of Gallion, Ala., Virgil Low of Kenansville, Fla.; three sisters, Pauline Tomlinson of Bragg City, Lorene Hampton of Demopolis, Ala., Marrie Simmons of state of Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Revs. Lester Dale and Arvil Edmonds will officiate. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
