Norman L. "Norbert" Ziegler, 60, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, to Joseph John and Linda Marie Ziegler, and grew up on the farm in Benton, Mo. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau in 1969.
Norman was owner and CEO of several franchises of Frontier Adjusters. He was in the insurance, investigative and claims business many years. He was past president of the following: Friends of the James Farm, Insurance Association of Suburban Kansas City, and Kansas City Claims Association.
Norm is survived by his loving wife, Cheri Bailey; a daughter, Paula Schulze and granddaughter Erin of Elmhurst, Ill.; a son, Kenny Ziegler and wife Deanna of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Linda Ziegler of Benton; three brothers, Gary, Roy and Ralph Ziegler; a sister, Therese Glueck; and many other relatives.
Norm enjoyed photography, the mountains of Colorado, and the vineyards of California. He also loved traveling and lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
A memorial service was held Jan. 11 at Unity Temple in Kansas City.
The family suggests donations to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
Marts Memorial Services in Kansas City was in charge of arrangements.
