McCLURE, Ill. -- Norman E. Waterman Sr., 85, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of McClure, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 18, 1929, at McClure, son of the late Kenneth and Hazel Waterman.
Waterman was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a former member of Okeechobee Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Disabled American Veterans, UA Steamfitters 439, First Baptist Church in Waterloo and St. John United Christian Church in Maeystown, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Jane Waterman; a son, Norman (Karen) Waterman Jr.; three daughters, Kay Wiegand, Jan Reitz and Pamela (Donald) Muertz; six grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Walster, Tara (Kenny) Reitz, Tyler (Ashley) Reitz, Casey Waterman and her fiance Justin, Samantha Muertz and Donald Muertz Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Laura (Wayne) Coleson; a brother-in-law, Clement Marchildon; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores Bensa; and a brother, Marvin Waterman.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Raymond Oxford, Steve Neill and Patrick Poole officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
