PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- C. Norman Monier, 87, of Perryville, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born March 25, 1917, in Perry County, son of Claude (Ed) and Anna Huber Monier. He married Mildred Mary Richardet on June 24, 1939.
He worked as a welder at Perryville Machine Shop. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and American Legion Post 133.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lavern LaHomme of Sereno, Mo., Mary Ann Winschel of Lithium, Mo., Linda May Meyer of St. Mary, Mo.; three sons, Richard Monier of Jackson, Paul Monier of Perryville, Gary Lee Monier of Steeleville, Ill.; a brother, Elvin "Hap" Monier of Perryville; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons chapel in Perryville from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and from 6:30 a .m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Parish Wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by an American Legion Wake at 7:15 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Thess officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 133.
