Norman J. Heuring Sr., 59, of New Hamburg, Mo., died Tuesday at his home. He was born February 24, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, son of Charles John and Lucille Josephine Westrich Heuring. Norman J. Heuring Sr., 59, of New Hamburg, Mo., died Tuesday at his home.

He was born February 24, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, son of Charles John and Lucille Josephine Westrich Heuring. He married Dorothy Ann Dirnberger on May 31, 1969.

Heuring had been an insurance salesman for New York Life, a car salesman for Cape GMC Pontiac and was a self-employed hay farmer. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, 15 years on the Kelso C-7 School Board, a member of the Draft Horse Association, exhibitor of Belgian draft horses at numerous state and local fairs.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Heuring of New Hamburg; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Norman Joe (Melanie) Heuring Jr. of Benton, Mo., Brian (Lauren) Heuring of Anna, Ill., and Jon Heuring of New Hamburg; one daughter Kara Heuring of New Hamburg; one grandson Devin Heuring of Benton; four brothers Gerald L. Heuring of Bruceton, Tenn., Charles M. Heuring of Omaha, Neb., Lawrence "Larry" Heuring of New Hamburg and Dennis J. Heuring of Cape Girardeau; and one sister Dorothy M. Deason of New Hamburg.

Friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg at 4 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. and K.C. prayers will be at 7:15 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
