SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Norman Arthur Gossling, 94, of Scott City died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 9, 1906, in St. Louis, son of Ernest Edward and Lettie Franklin Gossling. He and Beulah Glenn were married July 4, 1936, in St. Louis. She died Feb. 22, 1987.
Gossling was a member of First United Methodist Church in Puxico, Mo., and attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of AARP, Lions Club, and charter member of SEMO Iris Society, all in Cape Girardeau, and Masonic Lodge 596 in Puxico.
He was a gunner's mate second class in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a daughter, Merle Deneke of Jackson, Mo.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. Saturday. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Puxico Lodge 596.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery at Puxico.
