JACKSON -- Funeral service for Norman E. Maevers of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Maevers, 68, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 29, 1927, son of August and Amanda Nagel Maevers. He and Lou Seabaugh were married Dec. 21, 1973.
Maevers retired from Southeast Missouri State University in 1993.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Altenthal-Journes American Legion Post 158, Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Paul Church and its Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Maevers of Benton, Jerry Maevers of Jackson; three brothers, Arlen Maevers of Sikeston, Lester and Jerry Maevers of Jackson; two sisters, Mildred Lohmann and Jerlene Hutteger of Jackson; a stepson, Bobby Welker of Millersville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
