TAMMS, Ill. -- Norman "Lee" Cauble, 72, of Marion, Ill., formerly of Tamms, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill. He was born Sept. 11, 1932, at Elco, Ill., son of Norman F. and Florence Baldwin Cauble. He and Shirley Hunter were married Nov. 4, 1950...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Norman "Lee" Cauble, 72, of Marion, Ill., formerly of Tamms, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born Sept. 11, 1932, at Elco, Ill., son of Norman F. and Florence Baldwin Cauble. He and Shirley Hunter were married Nov. 4, 1950.

Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and for 30 years was a state trooper with the Illinois State Police. After retirement he was a part-time law enforcement instructor at Shawnee College. He was a member of Heartland Christian Church in Marion.

Survivors include his wife of Marion; two daughters, Leeann Killman of Marion, Ruthie Hall of Benton, Ill.; a brother, Ben Cauble of Mumford, Tenn.; two granddaughters; and two stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday until time of service at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Randy Allison officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
