Norman Lee Baker, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1931, in Annapolis, Mo., the son of Leeman P. and Laura Pender Baker.
Baker was a pipeliner and was a member of Pipeliners Union No. 798 for 44 years. He served as a paratrooper in the United States Army and was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Norman "Butch" Baker Jr., and his wife Deborah, of Jackson; a brother, Hobart Baker of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sue Baker Gleason of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren, Dustin Baker and Katherine Baker of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Baker.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wesley J. Rider officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
