Norma Ervin

Funeral service for Norma Catherine Ervin of Hayward, Calif., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Ervin, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Parkview Nursing Home in Hayward.

She was born Feb. 26, 1908, at Neelys Landing, Mo., daughter of Charles Louis and Sarah Catherine Whittaker Monroe. She and Otis F. Ervin were married Sept. 14, 1929, at Jackson, Mo. He died Feb. 9, 1982.

The Ervins owned and operated Ervin's Grocery Store in Cape Girardeau 10 years. She moved to California in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Gary Ervin of Modesto, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
