Norma Lee Ford Blaylock, 93, formerly of Jackson, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Amberwood Manor in New Philadelphia, Ohio, following a period of declining health.
She was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Advance, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Keller Foster. Norma and Jack Ford were married in 1940. He passed away in 1985. She and Vincent Blaylock were married in 1996. He has since passed away.
Norma graduated from Advance High School and later from the former Cape Business College in 1958. After graduation, she worked from 1958 to 1971 as a dental assistant for the former Dr. Jack Rose in Jackson. She worked as a bookkeeper from 1971 to 1984 for the former Internal Medicine Group and GNC from 1988 to 1996. In 2003 Norma relocated to New Philadelphia.
Her church membership was at Cape First in Cape Girardeau. In addition, she was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, and she was a passionate supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Loving survivors include two sons and their wives, Tom (Vicky) Ford of Raymore, Missouri, and Jim (Wendy) Ford of New Philadelphia; a daughter-in-law, Rita Ford of Alton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jay Ford, Melissa Everett, Terry Ford, Kim Riman, Tanya Drehle, Derek Abernathy and Jill Allen; her great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Brandilyn and Cierra Autery, Khristianna and Kordell King, Logan, Aaron, and Dillon Ford, Alyson McKenna, Hunter Drehle and Tiffany and Tyler Riman; two great-great-grandchildren; and a faithful friend, Doris Deibel.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Ford, and two infant siblings.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Advance on Route OO. The Rev. Charles Lance will officiate. Norma's family invites friends to join them at the graveside committal service.
