Norma Blattel

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Norma Gosche Blattel, 88, passed peacefully to heaven Monday, May 31, 2010, at Chaffee Nursing Center, where she had lived several years.

She was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Kelso, Mo., daughter of the late John and Christine Diebold Ressel. As a child she grew up in Kelso. She and Cletus Gosche were married in April 1944. He died July 8, 1975. They lived in New Hamburg, Mo., where she was a wonderful mother who loved flowers and gardening. She later married Earl Blattel and moved to Chaffee.

Norma was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose.

Loving survivors include six children, Carol Enderle of Kelso, Larry (Bonnie) Gosche, Patsy (Paul) Burger, all of Benton, Mo., Kathy (Walter) Seyer, Susie Gosche and Linda (Denis) Menz, all of Kelso; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cletus Gosche and Earl Blattel; a daughter, Laura "Jeanie" Glaus of Kelso; a son, Kenny Gosche; a brother, Wilford Ressel; and a grandson.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

The Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery at New Hamburg.
