ALTENBURG -- Norbert A. Meyr, 70, of Altenburg died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 7, 1928, at Altenburg, son of Arnold T. and Alida Fischer Meyr. He and Evelyn R. Mueller were married Aug. 20, 1950.
Meyr was a farmer and a livestock buyer for IPLA, Central Foods, and Real Foot Packaging. He had also been an alderman.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had held various offices within the church. He was a member of Altenburg Lions Club, and served on the board of directors of Perry County Memorial Hospital, Bank of Altenburg, Perry County Farm Bureau, and East Perry Fair.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Keith Meyr of Dallas, Texas, David Meyr of Perryville, Tom Meyr of Altenburg; two daughters, Lori Wooldridge of St. Louis, Julie Scholl of O'Fallon; four sisters, Edna Hartmeister, Ruth Leimer and Kalma Boyle of St. Louis, Esther Fischer of Princeton, N.J.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 5-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-9:30 a.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Al Strand officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
