Noel Wealand, 83, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Mary Queen and Mother Care Center in Shrewsbury, Mo.

He was born July 19, 1921, in Sheldon, Mo., son of Chauncey and Cordie Harbert Wealand. He and Opal "Eileen" Gawer were married June 4, 1949. She preceded him in death.

Wealand was a 1939 graduate of Bell City High School. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in the St. Louis area. He lived in Fenton, Mo., 52 years.

He was stationed with the U.S. Army Air Force on the Aleutian Islands during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, John Wealand of Fenton, Barry Wealand of San Jose, Calif., Judi Wealand of Fenton, Linda Robert of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ruth Koopman of St. Louis, Dorothy Lawrence of Idaho; and two grandsons.

The funeral will be at noon today at Fenton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton is in charge of arrangements.
