Nina May Edwards, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Gideon, Missouri, to Edward D. and Maddie Fleetwood Cruce.

She and Arnold Edwards were married in 1947, at Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday school and was a youth camp counselor. She was also a volunteer charter member of Saint Francis Medical Center Auxiliary. She worked for Davis Electric for 25 years and was an in-home sitter for 11 years.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold Edwards of Cape Girardeau; son, Bruce (Ida) Edwards of Saint Charles, Missouri; three daughters, Vickie (Dee) Welker of Jackson, Becky (Leo) Casey of Gordonville and Patty Wilson of Springfield, Missouri; brother, Ray (Marty) Cruce of Flint, Michigan; sister, Dena (Rob) Hadley of Cape Girardeau; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Cruce.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Roop officiating.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to Teen Challenge Mid-America or Bethel Assembly of God.
