DEXTER -- Nelson Lee Palmer, 77, of Dexter died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born in DesArc March 4, 1921, son of Walter Lee and Zella Myrtle Hamilton Palmer.
He married Jesteen Moss at Sikeston in Nov. 12, 1942. She preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 1997.
He lived in California 22 years before moving to Dexter in 1981. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene at Dexter. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Palmer of Jackson, and Richard Palmer of Newhall, Calif.; a daughter, Janice Crawford of Chanhassen, Minn; three brothers, James Palmer of Danville, Ind., Norman Palmer, Franklin, Ind., and Preston Palmer of Sikeston; six sisters, Ethel Cecil of Lilbourn, Vesta Harden of Dallas, Betty Spane of Advance, Faye Young of Dexter, Neoma Gibson of Shoals, Ind., and Leona Downs of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Sonny Palmer, and one brother, Charles Palmer.
Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Palmer of Bridgeton, Mo. officiating. Burial will be in the Mounds Cemetery at Lilbourn.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
