ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Murphy of Anna will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Jack Wolfe will officiate, with burial in Taylor Cemetery near Vienna.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Mrs. Murphy, 90 years old, died Friday, Jan. 11, 1990, at Union County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 20, 1900, in Johnson County, daughter of William Franklin and Matilda Adeline Waters Cates.
Mrs. Murphy was a psychiatric aide at Anna Mental Health Center and Galesburg Mental Health Center for 35 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Anna United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Juanita Deming of Newington, Conn., Peggy and Harry Johnson of Anna; a sister, Opha Thompson of Bloomington; a brother, Charlie Cates of Vienna; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
