NELLIE M. SHANER

DEXTER -- Nellie M. Shaner, 90, of Dexter died Sunday Dec. 10, 1995, at the Dexter Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 15, 1905, at Fruitland to Charles and Idyll Davis Noland. On April 2, 1927, she married Lawrence W. Shaner, who died Jan. 18, 1985.

She was a cook for the former Owl Shanty Restaurant in Fruitland for 20 years. She assisted her husband at the former Shaner Antique Shop in Fruitland. She moved to Dexter in 1987.

She was a member of the former Methodist Church at Fruitland.

Survivors include, a son, Donald Shaner of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Peggy Matthews of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, a daughter, and a sister.

Visitation is from noon to 2 Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Broadway officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Fruitland.
