Nellie E. Baker, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Malone, Washington, to Lauren David and Frances Lorraine Campbell Bennett. She and Fred M. Baker Sr. were married Dec. 6, 1951, at Malone. He preceded her in death June 22, 2016.
Nellie worked as an OSHA supervisor for the State of Oregon until retirement. She enjoyed playing piano and knitting. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling and evangelizing in many Assembly of God churches throughout the country.
Survivors include five daughters, two sons, 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Fred M. Baker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Cape Christian Community School.
