CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Neley Shelton Williams, 69, of Kansas City, Mo., died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Benton Harbor, Mich., daughter of Odell Hawkins and Lizzy Burnett. She married Thedosuis Williams in 1950.
Williams lived in Charleston 60 years, moving to Kansas City in November 1999.
She was a member of Grand Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church in Charleston.
Survivors include four sons, Willie and Marvin Williams of Kansas City, Darryl Williams of Maryville, Mo., Antwan Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; seven daughters, Pearly Dixon, Celia Brazil and Barbara Walker of Kansas City, Clara Williams of Jacksonville, Fla., Wanda Williams, Johnny Lyons and Elizabeth Williams of Charleston; a sister, Grace Pittman of Phoenix, Ariz.; 32 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Opportunity Church of God in Christ. Steve Betts will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
