Nancy Irene York, 69, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Heartland Care and Rehab.

She was born Oct. 8, 1954, in Cape Girardeau to the late Harry and Ellen Irene Friedhof Headrick.

Nancy worked as a certified nurse's assistant and medical technician.

She is survived by a daughter, Christine (David) Merritt of Cape Girardeau; brother, Arthur Headrick of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Haleigh Moore, Trey and Caleb Richardson, Trenton Merritt and Tiffany Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Moore and Connor Shell.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John York; and son, Daniel Richardson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday, Dec. 21, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home, with Pastor Frank Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
