SIKESTON -- -- Nancy Lee Christie, 52, of Walnut Creek, Calif., and formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
She was born July 11, 1946, in Clinton, Tenn., to Robert Henry and Nola Mae Taylor Wallace.
She married Ray Christie Dec. 15, 1962, at Ashland, Miss.
She was a homemaker and had won the Contra Costa Cook-Off in Walnut Creek three times.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from California State University-Hayward and an associate degree in apparel design at Diablo Valley College at Concord, Calif.
She was a 1964 graduate of Sikeston High School and had attended North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include her husband, of Walnut Creek; one son, Michael David Christie of Concord, Calif.; one daughter, Kathryn Jones of Concord; four brothers, Robert Wallace; Ronald Wallace of Sikeston; Marc Wallace of Doniphan; and Charles Wallace of Warren, Mich.; and one sister, Edie Stroud of Sikeston.
One son preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Jim Guffie, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
