Nancy Halcomb

Nancy Elaine Halcomb, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 15, 2004, at her home.

She was born Oct. 7, 1927, at Doniphan, Mo., daughter of Leonard F. and Hazel Keel Ponder. She and William F. Halcomb were married in 1945 at First Baptist Church in Doniphan.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Laurel Schlief and husband Ron of Perryville, Mo.; a son, Douglas Halcomb of Houston, Mo.; a sister, Ramona Brown of Doniphan; two brothers, Jerry Ponder and wife Janice of Mason, Texas, Larry Ponder and wife Wanda of Doniphan; a stepsister, Hannah Finley Maddox of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Chris of Columbia, Mo., Scott and wife Debbie of St. Louis, Andrew of Naples, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul.

Friends may call at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Wade Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
