BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — Nannie M. "Nan" Green, 85, of Bloomfield and formerly of Jackson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri.

One of four children, Nan was born Sept. 2, 1937, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, to Kelly and Lydia Reynolds Carpenter. She was a 1955 graduate of Midway (Kentucky) High School. She and William L. "Bill" Green were married Nov. 3, 1956, at Midway Christian Church in Midway. They had been married nearly 64 years when Bill passed away Sept. 8, 2020.

Nan earned her cosmetology license and owned and operated her own shop in Midway. In 1969, the Green family moved to Jackson and became members of Assembly of God Church, where Nan was faithful in participating in the women's ministries.

Nan's highest priority was caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and especially enjoyed baking at Christmas time.

Loving survivors include her children, Kelly (Denise) Green of DeWitt, Arkansas, Kayelean (Bill) Vance of Bloomfield, Wanda (Dwight) Hensley of Bloomfield, Suzanne (Jerome) Townsend of Jackson and Joy Harris of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, Nathan Green, Erin Baldwin, Bethany Reece, Kory Vance, Tyson Hensley, Leighton Hensley, Alana Wilson, Quade Townsend, Kendall Townsend, Brayden Beaird, Peyton Beaird and Daythan Lane; 13 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Herbert Carpenter of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lexie Barath of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Floralene Carpenter; and her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Dwight Hensley will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
