Beatrice Nadine Engelmann, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at Fountain-bleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 3, 1932. in Grassy, Mo., to Martin L. and Grace Cordelia Rhodes Jackson. She and Cleman Engelmann were married Jan. 1, 1950, at Oak Ridge. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1987...

Beatrice Nadine Engelmann, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at Fountain-bleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 3, 1932. in Grassy, Mo., to Martin L. and Grace Cordelia Rhodes Jackson. She and Cleman Engelmann were married Jan. 1, 1950, at Oak Ridge. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1987.

She was very active in church most of her life. She was church pianist and organist for many years at Iona Baptist Church in Oriole, Mo. She loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and especially her great- grandchildren. She also loved cooking and entertaining friends and was a very good seamstress. With her love for children, she enjoyed her position as school cook for many years. She was a graduate of Delta High School.

Survivors include a son, Steven Engelmann (Susan) of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Vickie Bryant (Gary) and Sherrie Simmons (Tim Davis), both of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, James (Jackie), Justin (Liz) and Joel Engelmann; Janelle (Keith) Caldwell, Josh (Michelle) Bryant, Jennifer (Shawn) Davis, Chris (Jessica) Simmons, Scott (Nicole) Minner, Trevor Pearman; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street funeral home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Tommy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Nell Holcomb Music Department.
