Myrtle Stacy

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Myrtle Mae Stacy, 85, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Sikeston, she was the daughter of James and Martha Hodges Burnes.

On Aug. 28, 1937, in Charleston, Mo., she was married to Ward L. Stacy. He died Sept. 8, 1981.

A housewife, she was a member of Tanner Street Church of God and belonged to Gleaner's Sunday School class.

Stacy had been a cook at Scott County Central High School and at Southwest Elementary School in Sikeston.

Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Ann Clabaugh and Phyllis Williams, both of Sikeston, Carolyn Lee of Edmond, Okla., and Tammy Stacy of Savannah, Ga.; four sisters, Ruby McCoy, Ruth Phillips, Pearl Tadlock and Bertie Cullins, all of Sikeston; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Carl Addison and Larry Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Sikeston City Cemetery.
