ALTENBURG -- Myrtle Mary Ann Schmidt, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, in Houston, Texas.
She was born June 6, 1920, in Altenburg, daughter of Fred and Agnes Schuessler Groh. She and Edger E. Schmidt were married Aug. 4, 1946.
She lived in Altenburg most of her life.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Hays; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, and three brothers.
Waltrip Funeral Home in Houston was in charge of arrangements.
