SIKESTON, Mo. -- Myrtle Alaine Mayfield, 76, of Sikeston died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 27, 1925, at Illmo, Mo., daughter of Paul Casper and Hattie Elizabeth Bretzel Eiferd. She and Odell W. Mayfield were married Dec. 15, 1946, at Illmo.
She had worked at the International Shoe Co. and had been a service manager and credit manager for 25 years at the Sears-Roebuck in Sikeston.
She was a member at Concordia Lutheran Church and a Sunday school teacher. She had taught craft and painting classes.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Don Mayfield of Sikeston; a daughter, Sue Staggs of Sikeston; two brothers, Charles Eifert of Jackson, Mo., and Raymond Eifert of Scott City, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Church in Sikeston, with the Rev. Allen J. Wollenburg officiating. Burial will be at Blodgett Cemetery in Blodgett, Mo.
