JONESBORO, Ill. -- Myrtle M. Burton, 86, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, May 4, 1993, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born Aug. 11, 1906, in Union County, daughter of Delph and Delia Toler Knupp. She and Robert Burton were married in 1921 in Cape Girardeau. He died in 1974.
Burton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Iannes Mayberry of Fredericktown, Mo., Mary Sadler of Jonesboro, Lucille Heiens of Mt. Vernon, Daisy Howard of Ellington, Mo.; two sisters, Ellen Burton of Tamms, Velma Johnson of DuQuoin; 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesobro. The Rev. Jim Stamp will officiate, with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery near Wolf Lake.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
