CAIRO, Ill. -- Myrtle R. Jeffries, 96, of Cairo died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Daystar Care Center. She was born May 16, 1903, in Logan County, Ky., daughter of John and Maggie Ray. CAIRO, Ill. -- Myrtle R. Jeffries, 96, of Cairo died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born May 16, 1903, in Logan County, Ky., daughter of John and Maggie Ray. She married Albert Jeffries, who died in 1964.

Jeffries was a member of Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, James Moore of Harrisburg; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
