Myrtle Lorna Braun, 93, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Point Rest, Mo., to Karl John and Frieda Burfeind Kaempfe. She married Ferdinand John "Fred" Braun Oct. 17, 1938. He preceded her in death March 22, 2007.
Myrtle was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Council of Catholic Women, St. Ann Sodality and Redempterest Mission Club. She worked with Cub Scouts, Brownie troops, and was a guide of St. Paul. Myrtle was employed by Sunny Hill Gardens 13 years.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Braun of Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, Michael Braun of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Jeanne Roth of Gamelia, Ark., Kathleen Sanders of Thompson Falls, Mont., Sharon Braun of Jackson; a sister, Dorothy Underwood of Birmingham, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Braun; a daughter, Mary Koenig; four sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Village and will be accepted at the funeral home.
