Edith Muriel Urhahn Taylor, 79, of Benton, Mo., died Saturday June 11, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 2, 1931, at Blytheville, Ark, the daughter of Jesse Willis and Clara Bell Welker Eastwood. She and Wesley E. "Boodle" Urhahn were married May 7, 1951. He preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1981.
Muriel worked for the Florsheim Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and its St. Anne Sodality.
Survivors include: a son Dennis (Laurie) Urhahn of Boaz, Ky.; three daughters, Brenda (Harold) Backfisch and Darlene (Jim) Haines, both of Benton, and Debbie (Gordon) Goheem of Marthasville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Urhahn; a daughter, Janice Jenkins; a grandson, Ryan Urhahn; two brothers; and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Casteel at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Church. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
