MURIEL M. BURTON

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Muriel Margaret Burton of Bloomfield will be held at 11 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

Burton, 86, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 1994, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 2, 1908, in Atkins, Ark., daughter of C.C. and Lela Allen Carter. She and Pierce B. Burton were married March 6, 1926, in Johnson County, Ark.

Burton was formerly of Sikeston and was retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bloomfield.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Pierce Burton Jr. of Dexter, Harold Burton of Piedmont; two daughters, Jewell Cox of Bernie, Pauline Pixley of Delta; five sisters, Helen Partin of the state of California, Nell Blackburn and Lucille Link of Bixley, Okla., Inez Odom of Clarksville, Ark., Arbelle Harmon of Sikeston; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
