HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. -- Morean Weakly-Hamilton, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. She was born June 3, 1917, the daughter of Silas and Everleana Weakly. She was a member of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was secretary many years. HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. -- Morean Weakly-Hamilton, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002.

She was born June 3, 1917, the daughter of Silas and Everleana Weakly.

She was a member of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was secretary many years. She also was a member of the University Extension Club and a 4-H leader during her early adult life.

She is survived by six sons, Lee Hamilton and Michael Hamilton, both of Haywood City, Don Weakly of Cape Girardeau, Robert Hamilton of St. Louis, and Carl Hamilton and Richard Farrar, both of Sikeston, Mo.; five daughters, Earlean Thomas and Mary Curry, both of Cape Girardeau, Patricia Cagle of Caruthersville, Mo., and Phyllis Rose and Beverly Morris, both of Sikeston; three sisters, Roberta Penermon of Cape Girardeau, Lillie Young of Memphis and Velma Cotton of St. Louis; 55 grandchildren, including a grandson and granddaughter of Sikeston whom she raised; 80 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation also will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston.

Burial will be at the Haywood City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston.
