PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Monroe J. Gagnepain, 98, of Perryville died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born March 4, 1907, in Perry County, Mo., son of Emmett J. and Mary A. Cissell Gagnepain. He and Patricia Reiss were married April 6, 1931.
Gagnepain worked at International Shoe Co. and then was a retail clerk many years at Rozier's Mercantile. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, 3rd and 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus and navigator of the assembly many years, and had been a crossing guard at St. Vincent School and fleas.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Vogt of Crestwood, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. The Knights of Columbus and parish wake will be at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Revs. Francis Agnew and Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
