CHARLESTON -- Miriam Drinkwater, 90, of Charleston, died Thursday, June 30, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born April 12, 1904, in Campbell, daughter of George Walker and Lucinda Bridges McCutchen. She married A.C. "Boy" Drinkwater, who died April 2, 1975...

CHARLESTON -- Miriam Drinkwater, 90, of Charleston, died Thursday, June 30, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born April 12, 1904, in Campbell, daughter of George Walker and Lucinda Bridges McCutchen. She married A.C. "Boy" Drinkwater, who died April 2, 1975.

Drinkwater graduated from Colonial College in Washington, D.C. She then taught school at Campbell until moving to Charleston in 1929. She retired as manager of McCutchen Theatre, and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston.

Survivors include a son, Al Drinkwater of Charleston; three daughters, Patricia Blasingame of Bella Vista, Ark., Marilyn Drinkwater of Little Rock, Ark., Diana Hall of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Combs officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
