EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Minnie Beatrice Wheatley of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Mike Johnson and Burl Britt will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wheatley, 49, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born June 29, 1949, at Wolf Island, daughter of Enoch H. and Ethel Irene Carden Merryman. She and William Paul "Bill" Wheatley were married Jan. 8, 1968.

Wheatley lived in Mississippi County all her life, and was a member of Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, William "B.J." Wheatley of the home; two daughters, Melissa Crumley of Bertrand, Beverly Wheatley of East Prairie; five brothers, Jerry Merryman and Phillip Johnson of Anniston, Henry Merryman of Mt. Carroll, Ill., John Merryman of Rockford, Ill., and Earl "Chuck" Merryman of East Prairie.

Also surviving are five sisters, Ruth Coleman and Lonie Blasingain of Anniston, Ruby Grogan of Clearfield, Utah, Sherry Rayburn of Cooter, Mary Vines of Wyatt; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.
