OAK RIDGE -- Minnie Bartels Underwood, 77, of 10327 State Highway D, Oak Ridge, died at her home Friday, April 1, 1994. She was born Oct. 14, 1915 at Whitewater, daughter of Clarence Mungle and Alpha McElreath Mungle. She first married August William Bartels at Marble Hill on March 16, 1934. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1992...

OAK RIDGE -- Minnie Bartels Underwood, 77, of 10327 State Highway D, Oak Ridge, died at her home Friday, April 1, 1994.

She was born Oct. 14, 1915 at Whitewater, daughter of Clarence Mungle and Alpha McElreath Mungle.

She first married August William Bartels at Marble Hill on March 16, 1934. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1992.

She worked for Florsheim Shoe 21 years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Temple. She attended Cane Creek School in Cape Girardeau County.

She is survived by sons, Bobby Joe Bartels, Wayne Underwood and Dale Underwood, all of Cape Girardeau, Earl Bartels, Benton, Mo., and Milford Lee Underwood, Searcy, Ark.; daughters, Alice Rose Weissinger, Benton, Mo., Lillie Louise Hafferty, Cape Girardeau, Verna M. Cordia, Oak Ridge, and Wanda Marie Woeltje, Jackson; three brothers, Earl Mungle, Hot Springs, Ark., George Elmer Mungle, Chaffee, and Clyde Mungle, Oran; sisters, Monta Bartels, Columbia, and Buelah Thorne, St. Louis; 28 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at Faith Baptist Temple Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Ronald T. Green officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
