JACKSON -- Wilhelmina A. "Minnie" Bartels, 91, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 1, 1908, at Tilsit, daughter of August F. and Bertha J. Sternberg Bartels.
Survivors include a sister, Emma Bartels of Jackson; two nephews, Joe Vrbosky and wife, Becky, of Festus, Paul Vrbosky and wife, Beth, of Jackson; a niece, Betty Phillips of Jackson; three great-nieces, Andrea Vrbosky and Amy Vrbosky of Jackson, and Angela Phillips of Cape Girardeau.
Ms. Bartels was raised in the Tilsit community and still resided there with her sister. She was confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tilsit. She was a lifetime member of the congregation, and the church was a priority in her life.
She began her employment at the shoe factory in Jackson Jan. 25, 1925. She retired in December 1970.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Saturday at Evangelical Lutheran Church from noon to 1.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Don Reder officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
