PULASKI, Ill. -- Milo S. Thurston, 73, of Pulaski, Ill., died Sunday, June 6, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 28, 1919, at Pulaski, Ill., son of Harry S. and Jennie Edwards Thurston.

He was married to Virginia Helig, Jan. 8, 1943, at Paducah, Ky.

He was a member of the Pulaski Christian Church in Pulaski, Ill.

Thurston worked as a farmer.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was president of the Pulaski County Fair Board; a past director of the Southern Illinois Electric Co-op; a past director of the Southern Illinois Power Cooperative; a director of the Association of Illinois Electric Co-ops; a director of the Federal Land Bank; a past school board member for the Meridan School District; and was named a Master Farmer in 1992 by Prairie Farmer.

He was also a member of the Mounds VFW Post 8891 and a member of the American Legion Post 178.

Survivors include his mother; his wife; a son, Robert E. Thurston of Pulaski, Ill.; two daughters, Gloria E. Thurston of Pulaski, Ill., Beverly Palmisano of Pulaski, Ill.; a brother, Melvin E. Thurston of Pulaski, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the Pulaski Christian Church, in Pulaski, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pulaski Christian Church, in Pulaski, Ill., with Bro. William W. Winters officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, Ill.

Jones Funeral Home of Villa Ridge, Ill., in charge of funeral arrangements.
