MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Milford Cleo Upchurch, 99, of Marble Hill passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Glenallen, Missouri, son of Ralph Edgar and Ida Shrum Upchurch. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Rada Ellen Thomason Upchurch. He and Lela L. Bollinger were united in marriage Dec. 21, 1939. She passed away Aug. 28, 2010.
Milford was a farmer and worked in logging all of his life, served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II and attended the Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Milford (Pricilla) Upchurch of Buckley, Washington, and Jerry (Sue) Upchurch of Millersville; a sister, Marjorie Grindstaff of Macomb, Illinois; three grandchildren, Karen and Brian Upchurch and Kimberly Heaton; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers Medford, Edwin and an infant; and sisters Elsie Lou, Iva Dell and Kathleen.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Micah Bristow officiating.
Interment will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors.
