Milford W. Klaus, 86, of Friedheim died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 28, 1925, in Friedheim, son of Norbert F. and Lorene Sauer Klaus. He and Violet Ruppel were married July 22, 1945.
Klaus had been co-owner of Klaus General Merchandise and Feed Store in Friedheim. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 and Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim where he was past Sunday school superintendent and secretary.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Mangels of Cape Girardeau, Donna (Gilbert Jr.) Bock of Uniontown, Mo.; a brother, Clyde (Gloria) Klaus of Lake of the Ozarks; a sister-in-law, Verla Klaus; six grandchildren, Shawn (Kym) Bock, Dawn (Andy) Walkup, Dana (Jeff) Seibel, Jeffrey (Melissa) Mangels, Kevin Mangels, Matthew Mangels; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Klaus.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
