MILDRED WHEATLEY

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Mildred Kirby Wheatley of East Prairie will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Thomas Griffin will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheatley, 74 years old, died Monday, April 22, 1991, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Rosiclare, Ill., daughter of Zeness and Clyde Harris Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, John Kirby of East Prairie, George Kirby of Matthews; four daughters, Marie Woods, Bonnie Brown and Nancy Pearson of East Prairie, Ruth Burns of Wentzville; three stepsons, Arthur, Harley and Billy Wheatley of East Prairie; five stepdaughters, Laverne Chandler of Blytheville, Ark., Cora Haygood, Dora Shull and Frances Phillips of Florida, Lois Cosville of Georgia; a brother, Lacy Johnson of Florida; a sister, Marie Aters of East Prairie; 51 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and a brother.
