Mildred M. Westrich, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Ancell to Theon and Elfrieda Hess Blattel.

Mildred was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Cathedral and the women's sodality.

She was a housekeeper at St. Mary's rectory and retired in 2015. Prior to that, she worked at the Lutheran Home as a cook for 10 years.

Survivors include three sons, Dan Joseph (Marilyn) Westrich of St. Louis, Mark Allen (Jennifer) Westrich of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and Michael Charles (Dana) Westrich of Jackson; three daughters, Karen Ann (Dennis) Benefield of Jackson, Susan Marie (Mark) Matthews of Cape Girardeau and Rebecca Lynne (Kent) Talley of Jackson; brother, Larry (Mabel) Blattel of Cape Girardeau; sister, Shirley Ledure of Kelso; 10 grandchildren, Timothy Westrich, Emily (Todd) Obergoenner, Benjamin Matthews, Reagan Talley, Hannah Talley, Jessica (Jeremy) Harris, Zachary (Carlie) Westrich, Jacob (Macy) Westrich, Payton Westrich and Nicholas Westrich; 13 great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Gwendolyn, William, Emmaline, Louis, Owen, Kate, Eli, Logan, Evie, Maren, Kip and Della.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Theodore J. "T.J." Blattel; and grandson, Gregory Paul Westrich.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers and rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral or Notre Dame Regional High School.
