Mildred Vangilder, 87, of Jackson died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Jackson Manor.
She was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Pocahontas, daughter of Lawrence E. and Ruth Henderson Martin. She and Russell Vangilder were married Nov. 24, 1944. He died March 12, 1988.
Vangilder was a member of the New McKendree United Methodist Church of Jackson. She retired from the International Shoe Factory at Jackson after having worked there for 38 years. She was the payroll clerk at the shoe factory.
Survivors include a son, James Vangilder and his wife, Marsha, of Jackson; a sister, June Northdurft and husband Milton of Jackson; three grandchildren, Kathryn Vangilder of Cape Girardeau, Grace Vangilder and Lindsey Miller, both of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Whitledge.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Jimmie Corbin will officiate.
Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
