Mildred Runnels, 85, of Jackson died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Millersville, daughter of Burette and Addie Robins Brown. She and Dealing "D.D." Runnels were married July 18, 1935, in Burfordville. He died May 5, 1997.
In 1963, the Runnels moved from Whitewater to Jackson. They farmed many years near Crump, where she attended Bethlehem General Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Hugh Runnels, Jeffery Runnels and Joe Runnels, all of Pocahontas; three daughters, Gloria Bennette McSpadden, Lela Green and Katie Green, all of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John "Doc" Brown of Fredericktown, Mo., and Loomis "Jach" Brown of Jackson; and three sisters, Bonnie Clardy of Jackson, Dorothy Stroder of Chaffee, Mo., and Ivy Houchins of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mike Huffman and Jeff Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
