EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred Fredonia McCarver, 81, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 26, 1917, at Big Sandy, Tenn., daughter of Joseph N. and Delia Herrin Bain. She and Paul S. McCarver were married July 14, 1935. He died July 25, 1995.
McCarver had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was employed by the Division of Family Services as a social worker until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie and its Loyal U&I Sunday school class.
Survivors include two sons, Perry McCarver of St. Charles and Mike McCarver of Los Altos, Calif.; four daughters, Shirley Nunn and Liz "Betty" Molnar, both of St. Charles, Sue Goodrum of Little Rock, Ark., Judy Potthoff of Kirkwood; a brother, Ralph Bain of East Prairie; two sisters, Hazel Crisel of East Prairie and Truedean Cole of Fort Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with Fred Girdwood and Martin Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
