DONGOLA, Ill. -- Mildred Mays, 81, Dongola Route 2, died Monday, May 8, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Murphysboro. She was born Aug. 4, 1913, at Alto Pass, daughter of John Thomas and Lula Broadway Bilderback. She and Oliver Lee "Pete" Mays were married March 1, 1949, in Cobden. He died Jan. 2, 1989...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Mildred Mays, 81, Dongola Route 2, died Monday, May 8, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Murphysboro.

She was born Aug. 4, 1913, at Alto Pass, daughter of John Thomas and Lula Broadway Bilderback. She and Oliver Lee "Pete" Mays were married March 1, 1949, in Cobden. He died Jan. 2, 1989.

Formerly of Anna, she was a member of First Baptist Church there.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosann Lingle of Dongola; a brother, William Bilderback of Alto Pass; three sisters, Hazel Karsteter and Mary Smith of Anna, Maude Anderson of Denver, Colo.; two granddaughters and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jeff Anders and Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
