Mildred Frey

Bertha Mildred Frey, 95, of Scott City died Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born on April 2, 1909, at McLeansboro, Ill., the daughter of Emery D. and Laura D. Asterberry Hutson. She and Jesse M. Wheeler were married March 5, 1926, at Cairo, Ill. He died Feb. 16, 1956. She and Clyde P. Frey were married Nov. 12, 1978, at Puxico, Mo. He died Sept. 13, 1994...

Bertha Mildred Frey, 95, of Scott City died Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on April 2, 1909, at McLeansboro, Ill., the daughter of Emery D. and Laura D. Asterberry Hutson.

She and Jesse M. Wheeler were married March 5, 1926, at Cairo, Ill. He died Feb. 16, 1956. She and Clyde P. Frey were married Nov. 12, 1978, at Puxico, Mo. He died Sept. 13, 1994.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include three sons, Monroe Wheeler of Hamilton, Ala., Don Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Benny Wheeler of Scott City; a daughter, Norma Foy of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Leona Chiles of St. Louis; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating.

Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
