Mildred "Sue" Dillow, 90, of Jackson passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Walter and Cecil Dale Noland Schatte. She and Luther G. Dillow were married March 23, 1940. He passed away July 27, 1974.

The Dillows had lived many places due to Luther's supervisory position at International Shoe Co. His employment took them to Anna, Ill., Quincy, Ill., Mount Vernon, Ill., De Soto, Mo., Salem, Mo., and finally Jackson in 1963. Sue worked for the former PN Hirsh and the Dollar General Store in Jackson. She was a former Girl Scout leader in De Soto and Salem and was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, as well as the Joy Choir and WMU. She was also a Sunday school teacher, participated in many senior activities, worked in the church library and enjoyed traveling.

Loving survivors include three children and their spouses, Patricia and Jerry D. Bouse of Springfield, Mo., Jacque and Jerry D. Brotherton of Cape Girardeau and Jeffrey and Linda Dillow of Scott City; a stepson, Gilbert (Dodie) Dillow of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kristen Bouse of Republic, Mo.; Kara (Darin) Scruggs of Cape Girardeau, Kirk (Jennifer) Bouse of Springfield, Erin (Shaun) Craig of Cape Girardeau, Ashley Dillow of Sikeston, Mo., and David Dillow of Cape Girardeau; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia Esicar of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Jane Barr and Betty Jo Wilson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice or the MS Society.
